The game didn't go how I expected it to be. Hougang vs SAF. A game that I thought would have a lot of attacking from both sides and plenty of goals too. However it wasn't the case.
The first half went to SAF. Right from the start they won a corner and got a goal. Poor defending from Hougang though. After scoring, SAF sat back and defended. But Hougang did not much attack and it costs them dearly - SAF scored another goal. Again, poor marking from the Hougang defenders.
The second half was much different. Hougang went on the attack from the start and forced Shahril Jantan into a few good saves. And they were duly rewarded with a Jordan Webb goal late into the second half. After that goal, it turned the game on. Hougang went forward again and again but however, poor finishing let the down.
Man-of-the-Match: Fazli Jaffar (HGUFC). It was a hard choice between him and SAFFC's Taisuke Akiyoshi. Both were lively throughout the game but it was Fazli who deserved the title. Despite facing SAFFC's stiff defence, he managed to penetrate it with his lively runs and whip in crosses. Thumbs up.
Worst player: Mislav Karoglan (SAFFC). What happened to Kari? He seemed a much different player after the red card again Tampines Rovers. Unnecessary dives, too fancy, selfish. A day where I only have negatives to say about Kari. Maybe its a lack of games? We shall see next time round.
Till the next game..
